Paul Mooney and Dick Gregory by Dan Dion
[Two of the artform’s greatest assets mean a lot to the Bay Area. Mooney, a son of Oakland, was a pioneer that influenced Richard Pryor and subsequently the world. Dick Gregory, a paragon for comedy, civility, and honor, made significant contributions to comedy in San Francisco as he progressed to a legendary career. Know these men!]
I had the honor of meeting Dick Gregory a few years ago. I was attending the Congressional Black Caucus Convention in Washington DC, and Mr. Gregory was on one of the panels.
